I had an all copper heatsink one time and it was a quarter of that size and SO heavy. I can't imagine you can mount that in a tower case, the weight would pull the thing away from your CPU for sure. Looks killer but I'd definitely only put it in a desktop case so the weight would press it against the CPU and not away from it...

Just about.
1900g with no fan attached.
The aluminum Ultra 120 Extreme is only 790g without fan.

I would guess that its pricey too, being solid copper...

Should get mine in a couple of days. Still no sign of the Socket 1366 mounting kit though :(

It is. But not a single shop here around has the kit to pre-order. A German shop lists it but with an early-mid December release :thumbdwn:

But how long would it stay that way?
They could do a Wonka and have 5 of them be made of gold !!!!

$110 from frozenCPU.com, no thanks. You could almost buy a watercooling setup for that much.

With better cooling and half the headaches TRUE120Copper FTW!!!

hey guys you do know that you can use a tower as a desktop jsut lay it on one side and this baby canīt break **** but i agree 1,9Kg is a lot to keep without breaking it and say 2 silent cool fans and that is 1+kg adn crack smack that was the mobo and cpu(sees $$$$$ fly away)
:D
seriously tehy canīt release it without including secure ways to fasten it on the mobo.
iknow maybe welfing it there?

Like I said in the other thread about the copper TRUE
TRUE works better flat than on its side.
Shame there isn't much choice of cases that are high enough to take a decent cooler.
If there were I'd want 2 of them ,1 to house my optical drives, fan controllers, PSU and whatever else and one for the rest of the PC.

Can't wait :D
Can't wait :D
I held one of these in my hands last Thursday, believe me it weighs a ton. I really can't think why they would only use the standard mounting kit. It really is so much more heavier than the aluminum ones.

well it has to hlod why would they sell it if it broke motherboards in half?
there has to some relly good fastening kit with it or one has to flip the tower so thje TRUE stands straight up?

I'm going to secure it with something to the case. It might look awkward but safety first ;)

attach a lot of helium balloons to it.
Or you could drill right through the case and attach it with really long bolts :)
Then you'd be able to use 2 heavy 120mm x 35mm fans on it.

i know why not fasten bolts in the ground then a thick kable like those kable car kables that should hold it?

A bolt attached to a hook on the case ceiling and some kind of pulley system would probably suffice.
