Hi, hope someone can help me here.

I currently have a Geforce 7800GTX 256MB PCIe, but i also have an AGP based Pentium 4 motherboard, so i was wondering how an AGP 7950GT 512MB card compares to a PCIe 7800GTX 256MB card?

Is it better/faster than the 7800 even though its AGP based.?

Will the AGP card run newer games like Fallout 3, Farcry 2 etc better than the 7800GTX?

As much info about this comparison would be great cause it would save me alot.

Thanks.

I would have to think the 7800GTX would win out, if barely, but the main thing would be that most likely the PCI-E motherboard would house a better/faster CPU, so that would help as well. You're most likely going to be limited, CPU wise, with that AGP board, not to mention the bandwidth of the PCI-E is faster (upstream, I think). Someone else may be able to shed more light on this...

Thanks for the info, definitely helpful.

btw the PCIe 7800GTX is running off a 3.00Ghz Pentium 4HT CPU while the AGP 7950GT is running off a 2.66Ghz Pentium 4 CPU.

So im better off keeping the 7800 setup for now?

Thanks guys:cool:
