what card would be worth upgrading from a GT

i need more powah!

i am hoping to some how get another graphics card. but many dont seem significally faster than the GT or am i wrong (i have a G92 BFG GT 512 OC2)

would i see much difference with a gtx 280 or a 4870 x2 ?

also the max res my monitor supports is 1680 x 1050

Yes you would see a big increase.,I was running two 9800GTx 's in SLI and I seen a big increase.I do game higher but with a GTX 260 or GTX 280 or a HD 4870x2 you will see a increase .you will be able to run high FSAA and High aniso.you want be disappointed even with a GTX 260 192 shaders.

Yeah, I agree, you'd see an increase with a GTX 260 (216 or otherwise) or higher. Hell, I'm trying to upgrade from my 9800GTX to a GTX series card myself! ;) I just need a better PSU first, at least. Go for it!!!

If your max resolution is 1680x1050 then I would go with a GTX 260 192 shaders ,either the Evga or the BFG ,both sell around $260 and both offer a $30 rebate plus a game bundle of FarCary2 and 3DMark Vantage except BFG also offers a BFG super bright flashlite and BFG offers a 100 day upgrade.I think a HD 4870x2 would'nt offer as much since your max resolution is just 1680x1050.If you plan on getting a larger monitor then I would look into getting a GTX 280 or a HD 4870x2.
