I hope it's not too late to ask questions related to a legacy product.

I have a 6600GT AGP with VIVO feature, I've installed WDM 4.13 driver for XP, and forceware 178.24 WHQL, but I don't get any signal when I hook up my camcorder to the SVideo-in or Composite-In.

I know video-out on the camcorder works because the image shows up when I hook it up directly to the monitor.

my question is, does it require any specific forceware version for the VIVO to work? Has anyone tried VIVO with success?

On second though, could it be the copy protection thingy that prevents comcorder image from showing up in PC?

I tested my old VCR, playback a tape, 6600GT can capture it, but not camcorder, what's up with that?

I could be wrong but i believe that is an output not an input.

I am pretty sure it's VIVO, all the cables are labeled, they are component out, composite out, svideo out, composite in, and svideo in.

WDM driver installed properly and found the corresponding hardware, I can see the hardware in device manager.

Does you card just have an S-Video hookup? If so, I believe that is OUT only. ;) I don't there are too many nVidia cards that have a "tuner" to decode incoming video, such as a TV Tuner add-in card.

I thought I mentioned svideo out, composite out, "svideo in", and "composite in"?

If it's a VIVO version it should have some type of input. VIVO stands for Video In, Video Out.

Your card has the big thing hanging off of it like in this pic for this review, right?

As far as I know you should simply be able to hook your camcorder up to it. The only thing I don't know is how to display what is being brought into the pc. You could try testing an output from the VCR and see if that displays, but I would think if the camcorder displays on your monitor already it should work fine on the pc.

that is my card exactly, from MSI.

I thought it's as simple as hook it up to svideo-in, but I guess not.

I played a tape on VCR(composite), Movie Maker can capture the signal, but when I hook up my camcorder(composite or svideo), nothing shows up, this is weird.

indeed, otherwise I wouldn't be able to capture from my VCR.
