I've been trying to get my sound and NIC to work with no luck. I am very new to Linux and know no commands other than VI, CD, and LS. I have a Nvidia nForce motherboard with the NIC and sound integrated. I dont know much more about it, unfortunately. It came in my Compaq Presario, which is just over a year old. It has a AMD Athlon processor.

Right now I'm using XP. When using the Mandrake Control Center, it will not even detect my NIC. I tried downloading a RPM file, and think I installed that, but if I did, it didn't work.

If anybody can help me with this, please do. And forgive my newbieness!
