OMG first it was the cheating detonators and now its the nforce drivers. The latest 2.41/2.42 drivers are being withdrawn because they are buggy, whats happening over at nvidia ????

What were the bugs? Im using the 2.41 right now, WITH the IDE driver and my comp isnt running any different than it was before (I dont think). Ive noticed some jerkiness in some games, but that could have been around before I updated.

I think a problem people were having is with games that require the cd in the drive, they were getting a msg that the right cd wasnt in the drive!

was most likely because of the IDE driver and sound driver

Weren't the 2.41s WHQL? If so, it doesn't bode well for that whole WHQL crappola. That would mean that the WHQL process missed bugs that were so bad that the drivers had to be pulled.

2.41 had lots of issues
safedisc bug (going to be fixed in next release, I'm sure)
audio drivers weren't what was meant to be posted
lots of other issues
the (possible?) corruption on uninstall of the IDE drivers
the nforce guy I talk to is pretty embarrassed about it
I'm already testing a much nicer pack wrt audio....don't have an nforce2 so can't test the IDE, but the others say thats nicely fixed up as well
I got no crackling in Freelancer <eg>
___
and supposedly WHQL is just not that great outside of video stuff
