I just bought PlanstSide, and id like to know if anyone else plays PS.
My first impressions of the game is that it is hard to learn, after the tutorials i have a slightly better understanding of it. But i do not have enough understanding of it to be fun yet. I tried the Instant action and i got 1 battle in. Then i guess people died, and i was left alone, no enemys no nothing. I just wanderd aimless ly for a bit.
Here is my first impressions.
Gameplay is way to slow, the area is too big, no action!
The graphics look like Tribes 1, the textures are a TAD bit bigger though.
The gameplay is like a very very slow Tribes 2, the vehicles are even bought in the same way.
I cant give judgement untill i try to play the game for at least a week. But right now i am giving PlanetSide the rateing of PlanetSuck*

From what I hear, people are generally in agreement with you.

If you feel the same after a few more days take it back, we are suppose to pay $13 a month to play this thing?

If i could take it back, i would, i never herd of best buy takeing back software though LOL!
Id wish sony would offer us a 'trade up' from this to EverQuest2 or StarWars Galaxies.
My recomendation right now would be to try it before you buy! It comes with a special cd code that lets you give it to your friend play for 6 days free if they like it they have to buy it i think.
BTW, its very buggy and crashes alot. And laggy....
This game dose have good possibilites for good teamwork, maybe once eveorn figures the game out.
This experinced guy bought a big bus type thing and like 6 of us hoped in, then i got a turret spot and we ran around killing scout people in light armor like nothing. Then we went for a base, and ran into heavy armor people, they riped us up : P but it was fun.

You can actually take it back, tell them you read the EULA and you do not agree with it. They legally have to take it back, if they say no point out the bit where it says you can return it if you disagree. If they still say no ask them to make a quick call to Sony.:D

OMG wow. I think maybe one time ill actually read those : D
But i think ill give them a shot for 1 month, i actually killed 2 people IN A ROW : D *applause here*
Their tutorials are a LOT better than everquests, but kinda long and not that informative.
I think they need to have a noob pratice server that has a diffrent 'world' thats just 2 islands and small and have people who know how to play showing other people etc.
and the incentive for people to stay there and show other people how to play could be a discount on the montyly free or a free month!

OMFG the new return to catle wolfenstein is what Planetside SHOULD BE!!!
as i cancle my subscription, gonna play that now insted.
I played the planetside beta for a couple weeks and it was ez to learn, to me much easier than Tribes 2. However I'm sure they keep the graphics at an average quality to keep down lag especially when flying a reaver.

Played the beta for about 2 weeks and had some fun with it, it took me about a day or two to get the full scoop of the game and actually pitch in with the rest of the team.
But after you get to a certain point you realize that all your doing is taking over a bunch generic looking bases over and over again, riding the same generic looking vehicles, upgrading your generic looking avatar with generic abilities THAT you can rollback or trade in for differant abilities so there is no feeling of any real accomplishment.
This game has next to no personality to it at all. After the 2 weeks, I was really glad I got into the beta, now i don't have to pay for it to know how empty this game is.
(Let's not forget the GENERIC looking graphics either :rw: )

I thought the same thing about planetside when I was in the beta. The only advantage was the potential of huge battles...I remember one that was over a 100 people. Other then that its a perpetual Tribes2 world with a few features from Anarchy online (implants).

I played the in the "Open" Planetside and generally speaking it was a bad experience. I was thoroughly unimpressed. I have a coworker in the Galaxies Beta, and since the release date is staying @ 24/25th for the game it will be interesting to see if they can make it. They have quite a few bugs to hammer out between now and then as far as gameplay.
Safe it say it is a pretty complex game, and will take some time to learn, but that's what everyone MMO game wants ;)
