Out of curiosity...if you could make your own website and recruit four or five editors from any site....who would it be and why?
If you can't narrow it down to an individual...pick four or five websites and list what it is about that website that sets it apart from others...
This should be interesting... :D

Hmmm, you mean besides you and Brent? ;)
It would really depend on the website and what the primary focus of it is, also if it has a forum or not.
Just hypothetically speaking, of course.

Dave Baumann, Mike, Pelly, Brent.. and... uhhh.... somebody. I don't really know right now. ;)
-edit--Oh yeah, good plan. Can I use genetic engineering to combine AshG, Matty, Neil, and Gib into some sort of giant Canadian mutant hell-bent on taking over the world from a BMW equipped with 802.11b? ;) --/edit--
--edit 2--or I could just have Mister Flibble. Fear the Flibble.--/edit--

Dah....thanks for the plug.... ;)
Perhaps I should re-phrase this...
What are the unique or key aspects of your favorite websites? Each website has its own approach and its own way of doing things...
In your opinion...what works?

OK... things I've been reading lately.
[H]--reviews generally are quite good, informative, and don't fill it up with useless crap like "Ooh Leet Counter-Strike Benches!!!1111oneoneoneone" That doesn't work. And then Kyle... eeeeh.... love him or hate him, you have to laugh at him. Everything about him just seems so over-the-top. Then the hate mail he must receive... probably makes him giggle like a schoolgirl. I know the indignant people who post his replies make me laugh pretty hard.
Envy News--reviews stuff that A. I'm not going to see reviewed at other sites, B. does a damn good job of doing it, and C. they can actually write. Forums need to get a hell of a lot more activity though. Good Stuph.
NV--well, I work here. And Mister Flibble. Forums are pretty informative and you still have the opportunity to bash fanboys repeatedly. Need I continue?
B3D--they say stuff, back it up, and then have the balls to correct others. I Like. Forums are also full of the same kinds of people at NV or Rage3D in terms of bias, it's just that they're generally a hell of a lot smarter (and much better at giving me headaches).
Stuff I'm not reading:
Anand--Flash graphs. 'Nough said.
Tom's--Just seems like it's lost its luster over the years. Not very interesting anymore.
/.--I glance at the headlines, read the comments if I need a mirror, but I try to avoid actual commentary at all costs. It makes the NV or R3D fanboy wars look like Mensa meetings.
And Pelly, why are you doing this? Mayhaps you think [H] is missing something? ;)

Thanks for being the first to step up to the plate Baron... :D
I've just noticed that nearly everyone complains about every website...no matter which website it is...
I'm just starting to wonder what the heck people are after...though I imagine no website will ever please everyone...
It's just interesting to see what sort of features make readers tick...

I definitley enjoy
Envy News - awesome reviews
NVnews - Great news and awesome forums..
Hardopc - awesome reviews
Ars Tech - enjoy the feel of the site and news..also informative
T-break - nice site layout (simplicity)..good news
:D
hmmm...
As far as reviews go (not news):
I dig [h] for gettin the stuff up fast, having a decent amount of ppl that CAN write good full reviews, and havin a middle ground-ish standpoint... Seems to me they stick up for AMD, intel, nVidia, and ATI all at the same time... I like the layout too.
Tom's and anand fall behind in this respect, as the good and full to sketchy and spotty ratio's a little different with these two (to me, anyway)...
...for OTHER hardware, Neil n Gib got it down pat... envynews is great for HSF/HSF concept/case/mouse/etc. reviews...
...seems like there's less and less reviews coming outta this place in the past 1 1/2 yrs tho... and the ones I've read I thought were good and appropriate for their time... (added note: MikeC: nice job on the 5900U mini-review... it woulda been nice to have more time, no?)
...:D
dang this has me thinkin now... how can nvnews review more product? Who needs help? My hand's up.

Actually, I was offered a video card to review.. it's just that my 1.4 TBird isn't exactly conducive to an accurate review. I think I'll have to rectify that after I move :)
