View Full Version : Why does Vista have to suck so bad?

Time and time again I find myself hating Vista more and more. Most recent is a Proxtime Attendance RX install on a laptop. Its has a serial to usb adapter that even with XP is kinda a stinker to get right, that one took me about 30 mins. Now dumb Vista Home Premium is suckin. I dloaded the newest version that is supposed to work with vista business and I am doing all the updates and I hope this works. If not, they will have to buy Xp pro or a new laptop with XP on it. I remember when XP came out it was like WOW, everything works well, hardly any driver issues etc. They need SP2 for Vista or something and the manufacturers need to start cranking out some good updates. Sorry for the vent but :headexplode:

i know vista usually fails on "average" (lower end) laptops. They pre-install tons of little software tidbits that make the system horribly slow. You pretty much need to reformat to get rid of all the trash. Compatibility wise, with service pack, it shouldn't be a problem.

I have all of my personal machines either using vista or kubuntu. I don't have problems out of any of them.

I'm just about to install the Vista x64, I believe there isn't other choice for my i7 upgrade.
Hopefully by now all the initial Vista problems were fixed, at least for the home use.
I wish there was an advanced Windows 7 Beta so I can save on one OS upgrade, anyway I only bought the cheap OEM Vista Home.

Vista just like XP runs great till you get all the apps you need installed, and one or more of them misbehave.
I just reinstalled last night after about 6 months of use. The difference in speed is amazing. I finally used vlite and got the install trimmed down nicely. My box feels like a high end rig again.
