NEVER! :p
Well, at least not in this economy. I'm already a Systems Administrator and I work for the state government so I'm enjoying job security during these tough times (I hope). I kind of enjoy doing the certification thing, even if they don't mean much. (Of course they always get dissed...by those people who never took the time to get certified themselves) When the economy picks up, I hope that I get compensated for my hard work during the tough times. And if I don't, then I'll be qualified enough to move on to greener pastures.
I'm A+, Network+, MCP, and now MCSA certified. I want to get my Security+ and MCSE before I get my Masters in IS or something to complement my BSBA. I sort of want to get Apple and Linux certified as well, but I just don't want to spend a couple years doing certs when I could be pursing the grad degree that could get me the big(er) bucks. I want to be as well rounded as possible concerning my skills and education. I want to work my way into IT management, and this seems like a decent enough way to make progress towards that.

I feel ya. I want to get my Masters in IS as well. Maybe I will be able to take some online courses next year and get it...
Gratz Q, I hope all those qualifications lead yu to exactly what you're looking for, sooner rather than later.
