I'm getting a chat board!

We can meet outside the cinema and dance. Sometimes you see girls on there are you HAVE to talk to them and ask them how long they have been gaming for and stuff like that!

I know most of them aren't. But if you look, everyone whose avatar is female with a girly sounding has a huge crowd around them, all getting asked the most mundane questions. It's quite funny. I like to just push my way through them and start dancing or making silly gestures. Then I go stand between two chatting Germans and just say LOL. It's annoying, but it Beagle found it quite amusing.

I have 115 dollars in Bestbuy money. I was wondering what to spend it on. Guess I might get a PS3 keypad and bluetooth headset for Home. I have been having terrible bad luck with games. Bought LBP and Motorstorm 2 and sold them both after 2 weeks. I just cant play a game enough to find it worthy of full purchase price.

Then you'll have fun with Home! It's free and still not really worth it!

So is Home going to replace the default ps3 interface, or do you have to sign into it?

You have to sign it, maybe they will have an auto launch option but I would not enjoy it replacing the XMB which is the best UI on a console to date.

It will be interesting to see how the public launch of home goes, and if it has long lasting usage. I can see the hardcore players not particularly wanting to use home as it adds additional time in getting to a game, while many of the more casual people may like the interactiveness of the experience.

I think the idea of Home is a lobby where you can play casual games and mess around in waiting for a party to assemble. Would be cool if Sony also used it to premiere new trailers etc, they could organise screenings and while you wait, you can chat to others and get the hype machine running. Kinda like talking to others in the local EB or GAME. I guess. Though I try to avoid talking to others I see in EB, the most conversation they can manage is how doctored screenshots are and how the game wont run on their ALDI bought PC.

Ha! no it's just a front so they can sell furniture dlc's and other crap I think. Not a bad idea though as people love to decorate there virtual homes.

Well Sony did show off events in Home like TGS Booths. They stated in the past that they want to set up events within home that coincide with real events (like E3) so people who can't make the show can still be apart of it virtually.

They also will have spaces dedicated to games were players can meet between games and/or plan tournaments easier. Also games like Warhawk will have rooms to plan strats that can be applied ingame.

How well this all goes depends on developers and Sony's support. If they launch it and just forget about it acouple months down the road it will fail but if Sony continues to put the effort to back it then it could potentially be successfuly.

QFT! :) And I hope they don't try to make home into a second second life; home should be developed with gamers and games in mind, not people who have no real lives.

What they should do is make it similar to second life but gamer oriented. Allow users to run events and other things along as its gamer related. The coolest thing I saw was in Second Life my friend ran a radio station... Ingame you could tune in and listen to him DJ, it was really interesting. Funniest thing is that the "company" that ran it paid his membership for Second Life.

Imagine if someone could do something similar in Home, run a station playing Game Soundtracks...
