I've got an Evga X58 up and running. Here's a few quick benches. Cards are @ 711|2300. These benches were all done with the 180.48 driver. BTW two of the cards are Core 216 and one is 192SP. I have two Core 216 cards because I ordered the vanilla EVGA GTX 260s off of Newegg and received Core 216 cards instead. My 192SP card is old.

I gained around 600 points vs 3.91GHz

Some old rig numbers below.

My old rig was a Q6600 G-0 @ 3.51GHz on an i975x mobo (BX2) with a single overclocked GTX 260 192SP @ 730|2600. Below is Crysis on it. I never ran Assault Harbor on it. I did do the regular bench though.

Crysis (Old Rig)

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/1199/crysisvh1920xtf6.jpg

Before I built up my SLi rig I did try a single GTX 260 Core 216 in my old rig @ 730|2500. It's FC2 results are below.

FC2(Old Rig)
DX10 1920x Ultra Settings Ranch Small 53.01FPS

So for example, my Min FPS on my new rig is 17FPS faster than my Avg FPS on my old rig with the Crysis Regular GPU bench @ 1920x all VH.

So far I like this mobo. It's been painless to get up and running well.

EDIT: For some HT off/on results, Crysis results and old system numbers.

I'll be watching :) I'm sure it will rock.

BTW, thanks for the OC guide over at the official EVGA forums, jAkUp. It helped me get my bearings with the board and accelerated my jump to a decent OC. I feel like the CPU has more in it and I'm going to take my time running it up. Besides I'm on air and I don't want to smoke my brand new sh#t :p

The thread I am talking about for those who are new to X58 and may be getting an EVGA X58 board.

I'd highly advise folks looking for their max CPU clock to use very tame memory settings until you find it. Try 9-9-9-24 2T with an 80 tRFC on a 2:8 divider. My tRFC being at 59 was holding me back big time.

Tri-SLi works fine in AoC. I use to get 32FPS below with 16xCSAA|16xAF @ 1920x. It's 83.7FPS in the screen if you don't want to bother loading it-

http://img149.imageshack.us/my.php?image=aoctrigw1.jpg

I don't get any "microstutter" either. I'm wondering if the massive bandwidth available on X58 helps. Of course 6Gb system ram with a highly overclocked quad doesn't hurt either.

Yup, I finally got the last piece of the puzzle today :)

And thanks, honostly even the 920 clocks really good, 4.2GHz+ is pretty easy usually.

Just got mine set up this evening. Even at stock speeds, this thing blows the doors off my old C2D E6750. I'm thinking of trying SLI by adding another GTX 280, especially since the price has come down to about $375 for the vanilla card.

With your cooling I'd expect well beyond that. On air GHz+voltage increases eventually overwhelm you. I might be able to work my way to 4.2GHz and I think the heat would be too much @ that clock given the voltage I'd likely need to hold it. Still you can bet your butt, I'll at least try. :)

All I did was disable HT in the BIOS and my 06 score @ 1920x shot up to 24315.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=9211256

There's not much difference @ 1280x though, only 24916

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=9211336

CPU score fell and graphics went up.

It did a little for my Vantage score.

I gained around 600 points. It's now P30732
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=598308

It didn't do a thing for FC2 or Crysis though. Since it requires a full 1.45v to hold, IMO not worth it considering I can do 3.91GHz on 1.33v. I might increase the voltage back to 1.35v and see how far I can go. 4.0GHz only seemed to have a good pay off in 06 @ default settings.

good man, I probally should of got a i7920 instead, but can't change now. I'm sitting a 4.0 1.328 volts multi at 30, don't want to push anymore because thats where you have to start pushing volts, then you know it's starts to heat up. your speed is good 3.91-4.0 thats pretty good. espeacially with your tri sli, Your set.:)

Looks like I'm good for 3.96GHz with 1.36v. I'm going to sit on that for a while and see how I like it.

I can run 189 x 21 1.36v or 193 x 21 1.45v. I think the former is a better choice on air.

I've seen this ever since I've been overclocking, you hit a plateau where it takes a large voltage increase to get beyond it for only on the order of +100MHz or less. I like to find right before that's required.

I had HT on which lowers FPS in this title a bit. I didn't feel like rebooting to kill it. It probably cost me 5-7FPS.
