Yep, HDMI cables are really bloody cheap to make. I found out that one of the hardware stores in Canada (RONA) usually has them in stock for that price.

HDMI = Digital Therefore No real reason to spend much at all really, except to get a decent connector that wont slip out, though that's more of a problem with Optical.

I agree with teh LORD. monoprice seems the cheapest place.

Monster Cables aren't always a bad investment - especially if you use a ceiling-mounted projector. I'm using a 2€(retails for 20€) 5m hdmi cable and can't get a perfect picture when using 1080p @ 60 Hz(I get some weird lines across the screen).

A sales guy at Best Buy tried to tell me that if I didn't buy Monster Cables, and only bought a generic HDMI cable, my tv would not output at 1080p, nor would I get the 120hz benefit from my set. I bought a couple 6 foot HDMI 1.3a certified cables from Mono Price and it was around $15 with shipping. I ordered them on a Friday night and they arrived at my house Monday morning. I will buy from them again.
