i picked a used one up at a comp store nearby for ten bucks. figured it would be worth it okay, i've got a few old comps i can use it in. but i looked on ebay out of curiosity, and they're not going for much. i was wondering how long until they will actually be worth something.

btw-anyone know what the rarest voodoo card is that is available (apart from rampage and v5 6000 that is)? i've got a voodoo2 card made specifically for the original iMac model; company that made the card went out of business, card still works, have box, driver disc, etc....i think it's pretty rare.

Well dude, truthfully, hardware hasent been around long enough for it to become 'collectibles' maybe stuff made in the 50's that were room and room's big.... no the 10$ you spent isnt a bad deal, its a great backup card for testing.

Maybe why there is not any collectibles is because PC is backwards compatabile, if Quake I could only be played on a voodoo1, then young kids eg. 13 who wanted to learn about quake would have to buy one...... but yeahhhhhhhhhh

yea....guess so. actually, i saw a voodoo1 there a couple weeks ago, but somebody snagged it.
i think i might have one other computer "antique"...i'll have to check on ebay.

daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn......can't say id really pay that much for a graphics card which takes up too much power, too much space, and performs like a geforce3. looks awesome tho.

Apart from the V5 6k, and the Rampage, the V5 5000 is most definetely a collectors item also.

Currently, I have a V5 PCI (which are hard to find) and a V3 2000. I've been offered a rather substantial amount of money for my V5 PCI, but I refused it.

Not the point... I'm only wondering just how much I can extract from someone for this card.

1200 dollars for a Voodoo5-6000 is a lot of money...

So far, I have collected the following:

Voodoo Graphics
Voodoo Rush
Voodoo2 8 MB
Voodoo2 12 MB
Voodoo Banshee
Voodoo3 2000PCI
Voodoo3 2000AGP
Voodoo3 3000AGP
Voodoo3 3500TV
Voodoo4 4500AGP
Voodoo5 5500PCI
Voodoo5 5500AGP

Only one missing really is that Voodoo5-6000...;)

Ummm..never.

Unless you find an idiot who thinks theyr'e worth something...then they are.

The whole problem w/ collectors items is usually finding a collector (idiot) to buy crap at ridiculous prices. Sometimes you find them, sometimes you don't.......and just b/c the "book value" of something may be $5,000 dollars does NOT mean that what it will sell for when you decide to sell it

Daytonas are even more rare ;)

Well, if you had a Specter card I imagine it would be pretty rare.

I don't think 3Dfx made that many Voodoo5 6000 cards so I imagine that they are rare as well. Thing had 4 VSA-100 on it and was capable of 1.33 Gigapixels.
