View Full Version : "Enter the Matrix" requirements
How good must a graphics card be in order to withdstand Enter the Matrix? (Will a Geforce 2 MX handle it?)
Aside from that, what are the recommended requirements?

I am cutting and pasting requirements as posted @ www.ebgames.com
System Requirements:
CPU: P3 600MHz; Celeron 800MHz
RAM: 128MB
Video Card: GeForce 2/Radeon 7500 equivalent
OS: Win 98/98SE/2000/XP
HD Space: 4.7GB uncompressed space
DirectX: DirectX 9
CD-ROM: 4x or faster
Gamepad: Optional, but 12 button recommended
so looking @ that yes... you can play it with a gf2...

It'll probably play decent at a low resolution, but it'd probably be very hard to get a playable framerate over 1024x768. Personally I'd just wait and see if Shiny plans to release a demo, so you don't sink your hard earned cash into the game only to find you need to put more into a new graphics solution.
On a side-note, I'm sure you could find a good second-hand GF3 for < $50 if you look around. The performance difference would be well worth it.
The gf2 mx has half the pipelines and half the bandwidth(64bus vs 128) of the standard gf2.
So I would say you are out of specs.
The game will probably cost more than the money to upgrade to a gf3 or radeon 8500 card.

I'm suprised people dont plump for the 5200, its dirt cheap and its pretty good from what i can tell
I'd await vamps upcoming review before i can say for certain, but its looking like its a douzey of a budget card.

As long as image quality is not a concern, and also it doesnt like decent resolutions for online games. But that doesnt really matter for enter the matrix:D
