Man, In have been gong through hell the last few days:(

I have never installed a Power Supply unit before so I decided to do it myself. I recently bought an Enermax 550watt Power Supply. I installed it yesterday and all that came on was the HD light (orange light) but no power light (green light). The power came on and sounded as if were working but the green power light did not come on so the PC wouldn't do its thing. The HD light eventually went off (i guess because nothing was happening). So......I decided to re-do it all and still the same stuff happened. Then I decided to put the old one back in and POOF it worked. On the first try too. The "old one" I put back in is a Chieftec 340watt PS. The mobo I am running is an Intel 845gb. Maybe there is a conflict or somthing but I can't see how. Man, I really do not want to RMA.......I bought this new PS to go with my new Abit IC7-G. I figured I would put the Enermax 550watt PS in to try it out first. Guys, Is there ANYTHING I could be doing wrong? I really do not want to RMA.......

Here is some more info:

All the fans turn on (exepct the cpu fan on the processor). Power supply fans are on as well. Mobo light comes on and everything sounds like it is on but no picture on monitor and no green power light.... Thanks

I'd look into that issue first. I fail to see WHY this particular fan wouldn't turn on with the new PSU, but maybe that failure would prevent the system to boot (CPU protection? I'm not familiar with your mobo, but I know my P4PE has this kind of hardware monitoring system at startup).

Just my 0.02 €...

Thanks. How do I check into that and what should I look for?
