Does W7 have the WEI numbers? Or did they scrap it? Did they raise it? (if it's still in)

Any other MSDN subscriber having problems getting their Windows 7 keys? The web page keeps erroring out . . .

MDSN tells me "keys will be available later on".

Hmmm . . . Sounds weird but ok. Maybe they will be released tomorrow.

So I have Windows 7 up on this laptop:

Intel Core Duo 1.67GHz
2GB RAM
Intel GFX (probably a 945GM)

Runs fantastic compared to Vista! I'm a little impressed with the performance boost. Good thing I have an open afternoon to try and break it lol. :D

It -is- faster. I hope SP2 will bring same speed to Vista as well :)

From MSDN: The activation keys are currently unavailable. Please install without using keys and check back in a few days to claim the keys. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So the repacked version Ive requested from MS recently is still up to date? :wonder:

Sou... the "reapcked" version, or the latter oen that I have obtained got to 88% of the 2nd bar during the install and... again - the error message. :/

There are problems with X-Fi sound cards missing surround sound with Windows 7 beta 1.
All supposed "worksrounds" do not actually work. The best you can get it surround sound when you "test" the card, but when gaming or playing music surround does not work.

Was gonna do some benchmarks, but the results differed only ~2% so I chose not to post 'em. :) Windows 7 and Vista are pretty much exactly the same when it comes to gaming.

While this is true, there is much less of a lagged feeling in games in W7. Much more like Windows XP even though this doesn't seem to be measurable. That was one thing about Vista I could not get over, games just felt mushy with the input lag being so noticable.

you are the only that keeps complaining about lag

also because it is 2009, about time 32bit kicks the bucket

QFT. We need to show strong support for this, so the developers can start 64bit as there primary/only coding and hopefully O/S's start being only 64bit. Obviously Windows 7 is both, which sucks.

+1. I think they should just have 64-bit versions for W7, most OEM desktop and laptops come with at least 3, if not 4GB or RAM so why not just throw 64-bit on there?

On a lighter note, I am pretty darn impressed with what W7 did with my old work laptop. I tried real hard last night to make it crash, or even make it slow down, but I just couldn't!

So today, I'm going to put it on my personal laptop and see how it will run on a little better hardware.

You are the only one getting a 404. :D There is a reason for that. I've already got x64 and x86 running so you can byte me ;)

64-bit has been slower than 32-bit just IMO.

I tend to think that the 64bit being slower will vary depending on people's machines and the software you are running.

Depends on the system. I for one found the 64-bit version to be faster, as did many other users in this thread. :)
