download demo of alcohol 120% to make back up copy's of games that i own that are copy protected only to discover it wouldnt work and wanted to know if anyone can solve this problem.
first off i put the game disk into my first drive which is a nec nd-1100a( itried bf1942 and mohaas) then i chosse "safedisk 2" and when on next screen as to where to copy it to i try to choose my othere drive (lite on 24102m) it says to install a blank disk ,which i do, but it doesnt start to copy. so after that i click on cancell and leave blank in drive and then try again and it says " access denied" any clues as to what i am doing wrong or is it that my drives are not compatable with the program? my full specs are:

i did manage to get the virtual drive feature of alcohol working fine..it worked great fro bf1942 and mohaas. i also wanted to mention that i tried copying as stated above but used the lite on drive as the source drive and the nec nd drive as the copy drive and it still gave same error 'access denied"...is it not possible to copy disk with only the demo??or is it that my system jsut is not agreeing with alcohol 120% software?
error was either acces denied/or drive inaccessable something to that nature...either way it was like it didnt want to let me use the drive for coping which ever drive i so happened to try and use. for blank disk's to copy to i tried cd-r/cd-rw/dvd-r(only on the nec drive)

if i wanted to copy the disk directly to my hard drive somewhere, will it copy it to the hard drive with the copy protection removed so that if i wanted to copy from my HD onto a blank disk using a different burning software (like record now max) i could end up with a good working disk in the end? has anyone succefully done this?

Dunno what version safedisc Mohaa uses, But since I cant use my Toshiba DVD drive to read, theres some weird problem where it reads really slow, i use my liteon 32x burner to read the image to hd and then burn. So far anything I backed up: Raven Shield and CnC Generals, both were prefectly working backups of the orignals. Make sure ur using Image burning wizard after you use the Image making one.

i got it working correctly using these steps for safedisk 2 copy protected cd's:
step 1:
Install the game
Start Alcohol, goto Emulation, Extra Emulation, activate BAD Sectors Emulation
Minimize Alcohol, start the game with the original disc inserted
Quit the game again, don't eject the CD
Goto Alcohol again, read the disc with SafeDisc 2 profile

step 2: burn the image to hard drive using the image making option.
before burning do this : disable "EFM" option by going to General, Data type setting. then choose DiskType: SafeDisk2
1) Insert the game disk in your computer (MOHAA, BF1942, etc)
2) Open alcohol, and select the Image Making Wizard
3) Select the datatype on the first screen (in this case, SD2)
4) On the next screen change the file name if you so wish
5) Dump the image

step 3: record image to blank cd-r/cd-rw: go to burn image option and set memory buffer to 74mb(SPECIAL NOTE: this option may have to bet set different for someone else's computer if different than my setting's and system info but i needed to be at 74mb..probablly because the system i was using to burn only had 256mb of physical ram) and in record options also choose safedisk 2 option.choose the image to burn and click on start.

step 4: repeat procedure as above for each individual safe 2 type protected disk that each game comes with.(some games have 2 or 3 disks in all for installation of a specific game)
