Yeah traveling through a steel mill is pretty wierd, dodging acid sprays, ducking under cranes swinging slabs of hot metal, getting your clothing set on fire by sparks etc. Where I worked we had a guy commit suicide by jumping into a ladle of molten steel. I never found out for sure if they scrapped the heat or not :)

I never dealt with acid spray, but the paint on me car was flaking off inside of a month. The cranes didn't bother me, it was the damned Kress drivers who didn't understand the rules of the road that always pissed me off! Oh sure, if I was driving a truck as big as a house I'd probably be cutting people off at stopsigns too...but they learned NOT to cut me off because if they did that truck would have mysterious communication & computer problems for the whole rest of my shift! (After I cracked the firewall there I spent me spare time reading all the BOFH's, it kind of ain't the best thing to be reading I guess working as a SysOp... ;) )
