Fastest overclocked DDR 800 RAM?

I have a buddy of mine that was telling me that he got his G.skill ddr 800 memory up to ddr 1600 on a system with air cooling and no third party modifications. To me that number seems completely impossible. Even numbers like 1100+ are hard to achieve. Is a number like 1600 impossible for ddr800? Thanks in advance for your help regarding this.
