That's not the typical 2-card sandwich design nVidia used in the past though. It looks like two GPUs on a single PCB, much like ATi's X2s... unless I'm mistaken?

Pretty sure from the Previews it is still a 2 PCB design, but the heatsink has a different design

680W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more.

Damn now I need a new power supply when I upgrade :( I was hoping to get an Intel I7 with this card and use my old power supply.

You can buy one in HKG for USD$540!

Incidentally, you can but a 4800X2 for USD$385

Basically:
Up to 1920x1200 with a bit of AA : gtx295 is faster
2560*1600 with/without AA: hd4870x2 faster due to 1gb ram.

I ordered the EVGA for my OCed Q6600|BX2 rig. It has a 1920x LCD so I should be fine.

Actually the 295 will often do ok @ 2560x if you stick to 4xAA. If you own a recent nVidia card like a GTX 260 Core 216 you ought to be using "enhance" + 8-16x CSAA. It costs about the same as 4xAA and looks better.

Ya, this is just not attractive to me. They should follow ATI on the single PCB setup.

This just seems like old dual processor server boards, eventually we'll see multiple GPU's on the same die.

While I'm tempted, my 8800GTX SC is still going strong. Maybe I'll wait a month or two or until something worth upgrading comes along.

Then again I can still remember my pair of GX2s, driver support dropped like a rock...... Thank you Nv!

We seem to be looking at different #'s

295 seems faster in almost all cases except a couple games @ 25x16

You are mistaken. It's 2 PCB's. However, instead of it being 2 cards stacked with 2 coolers, Nvidia decided to sandwich one massive cooler in between the 2 cards. I looks to be a better design than previous cards.

After suffering through the 9800GX2 and the 4870X2 I'll DEFINITELY pass on this one.

Besides the driver problems I had with the 9800GX2, the card dropped dramatically in price after the GTX280/260 came out so I really felt screwed at the price I bought...

If anything this time, I'd upgrade to an X58 and go SLI... But honestly the GTX260 core 216 has been playing games very well.

Works for me. I think I'll pass on these. My 280s should last until the next gen comes out....hell I might get a 3rd 280 :captnkill:
