I just tried to reset my mobo's bios(asus p5b deluxe) and I moved the chassis intrusion detector pin by mistake and now the system refuses to start(put the jumper back to its original position to no avail).

Tried resetting the cmos and everything, but I keep getting the same chassis intruded error message and can't even get into the bios to change the security settings.. :thumbdwn:

Any ideas on what to do?

get rid of the intruder

when you moved that pin, did you move it back? maybe a short?
try removing he battery from the board

Tried it, even tried shorting it manually, but it didn't work. :(

Disable chassis intrusion detection in the BIOS?

EDIT: Just read your post again :o.

If you take the battery out and reset the CMOS remember to switch off the power supply as well.

yeah did that - but I did a quick search on asus' forums and this appears to have been a major issue with the p5 series of motherboards. There's really nothing I can do anymore since it's broken and out of warranty. :thumbdwn:

Asus also had no official response even though there are hundreds of complaints, so the p6t deluxe is going to be my last asus motherboard. EVGA FTW!
