Here is the link www.e-shop.gr (http://www.e-shop.gr)
It's in greek so I translate.
It basicly says that LG offers 0 dead pixel 3 year warranty which is valid for all of their monitors bought since 01/01/2003.
You can post the "welcome to last week" or "timeline" gif if this is old news!!:o :p

If you haven't heard LG has released a 16ms response time screen too using its own panel. It's the only one that really supports 8bit color. The model is L1710B.
Check out these link
arstechnica (http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?q=Y&a=tpc&s=50009562&f=67909965&m=4190936913&p=75) and hardocp (http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=607293)

Its about time someone started doing this, hopefully the other manufacturers will follow instead of considering up to eight screen defects to be acceptable to the customer.

Fotis- I can't get those forum links to work.... but LG's website has the L1710B listed as 40ms response (25r 15d). It also says 6 bit + FRC, but with 16.7 million colors (what's that all about?) Can anyone provide a different review link for this monitor? To be honest, I'm not so sharp on translating LCD data yet.

Links whould be working now.:)
Well if you check the canadian, english and german site they have the L1710B listed as having 16ms response time. This monitor has not reached the US yet.
The situation is a bit complicated.
The original monitor had the specs mentioned in the US site but it seems that a couple of months ago LG replaced thier panel with the 16ms Optronics one and only very recently replaced the panel again using their own LM170E01-A4 panel.
If you check the arstechnica thread you'll see two people who've bought the same monitor but only one of them has the 16ms LG panel.
The only say to sure you buy the "good stuff" is to open the back on the monitor and see if it has the above code.
The only way to get a 16ms LG is to get the L1711S(analog) model which is not yet on their official site but beeing sold in some european on-line shops.
Can I offer you an aspirin for your headache?:D

I think I'll wait for the samsung 16ms screen to come out.Its more than a month late!!

8 bad pixels outta a million is great and in my opinion very generous. 100 dead pixels might be slightly noticeable though and would be a more reasonable offer. thats 1 in 10,000 that are dead, youd not notice it unless they were next to each other, in which I know some companies that instead of 100 dead pixels, if like 10 are touching each other are dead, it also counts as defective cause youd notice a tiny black dot

Erm, if I had a nice big red pixel in the middle of my screen, even that one out of a million would be more than noticeable.
