Got the stuff today :) Not pushing anything yet but great performance boost anyway :)

This is about as far as i can go with this mobo with a single gpu card,it doesn't support the last batch of socket 775 quads so apart from the E8600 this is the fastest cpu this mobo supports.Next upgrade are gonna cost a whole lot more but this will tide me over for a good while yet.
Here is mine stock. Let's see how far we can push em bud!

Don't remind me... can't believe you've held onto that board for that long. :p

Actually, since i got it back from rma in the spring of 07 its been running the same 600mhz overclock without any issues whatsoever. It would post 3.5 ghz with the 6600 but werent stable above 3.3 ghz, while not impressive it's not useless either allthough it took asus a few revisions to get there. It has served me well,it was just that other non nvidia boards achieved 3.6 with ease but speeds like that remained a dream with this board :p

Yeah, it took them a long time to release a bios for it. I was on the beta forever, and it had FSB holes all over the place.
But, to its credit, it was the only working 6-series SLI board that I ever found out of 6 tries. :P

Late to the game..........
Got my EVGA GTX 275 on Monday. Spent the morning reworking the cables in my PC and cleaning out dust in preparation for when UPS arrived (this was a must anyways since the card is 10.5 inches). Installation was a breeze as I had all my previous drivers uninstalled and DriverCleaned.net/DriverSwept. When UPS arrived it was open the box, shut down the pc, put the new card in.
This card rocks going from a 8800 GTS 512 which really wasn't slow by any means other than Cry****s, which still ain't so hot but it's a crappy game engine imo. It sure is nice being able to take FSAA for granted now :captnkill:

cryengine 2 is an excellent engine!

The Unreal Engine 3 is an excellent engine (but of course those guys have more experience so it should be).

I have that cpu in my secondary rig, push the fsb straight to 400 x 9 & she'll hit 3.6ghz on air no problems, slight volt oncrease to 1.3 & it's rock solid.

It's at 3.61 now and very solid,at 380 x 9.5 .400x9.5 is 3.8 ghz and that wont even post properly,400 fsb with a 9 mp is problematic aswell.I think i could get it to higher clocks eventually but since its prime stable at this speed and just over 30 c idle i'm not even sure if i should try.Had enough of trying to get the E6600 to 3.6 with this board, had a lot of crashes with broken registry entries, had to install acronis to even dare continue with trying to overclock the bastard further.

Got an MSI GTX 295 for $600 AU. Awesome price for Australia!! been playing Stalker Clear Sky 1920x1200, 8xAA, Enhanced Full Dynamic Lighting (DX10), everything maxed except for SSAO (off) and sun effects (low).
pulls a pretty constant 60fps in open areas but drops to 20-30 at the clear sky base.
I originally paired the 295 with a 550 watt Antec Truepower PSU. Not a chance. Did not have the Amps on the 12 v rails. So I managed to swap my old 8800gtx for a 750w superflower psu. not the best brand of PSU but solid none the less.

Just bought an EVGA GTX 275 for $229 on Newegg along with an Asus 24" monitor.
The vid card came with a free copy of Call of Duty World at War and also after I register it I get a free copy of Cryostasis.
I haven't bought any new games (besides Sims 3) in a long time due to my old vid card (7800 GTX 512) and cpu (AMD 3800+) that I had. Now that I updated everything I am anxious to see how some new games run on here.

We bought the same card :D I also went with some new Corsair ram (4 gigs) to replace the two I had. I know I'll only see around 3.1 but whatever....
I can't wait to fire up Crysis with the new card. I've done my homework, and it looks like 1680 x 1050 @ high settings is the way to go, as that gets you 50+ FPS. That will be a major difference from 25-30 with occasional drops into the single digits.

Just got my card in today and installed it and even though the box doesn't state it, the card is the Superclocked model! (nana2)
648 core vs 633
2376 memory vs 2268
A few people at Newegg have reported the same thing. Glad I got it from them. :)
I haven't played any games yet but it is idling at 47C with stock 40% fan speed. I turned the fan speed up to 60% and still can't hear it and it dropped to 44C at idle. My old 7800GTX 512 would run at 42C idle so not much difference in temps (idling anyways).

Nice dude! I heard those stories too about receiving the overclocked version--I can only hope I'll be as lucky :>
Man, I went with next day shipping so it should be here tomorrow... but tomorrow feels like a long ways off :(

a good score but hardly "super" clocks...
102.3% Core
104.8% Memory
I hope they don't charge alot more for them.

They didn't charge me a damn thing extra for it :D
On their website it shows the superclocked edition is just $10 more than the regular version though.
I've got the card at 696/1566/2494 which is about a 10% increase from stock now and it's running great. Not gonna try and push it any farther as it meets my needs now. I've also got the fan running at 100% and I don't find it very loud at all. Maybe I was use to my 7800GTX 512 fan or something.

I find my 295GTX from MSI to be quite loud compared to my 8800GTX.
I also performed a modest overclock with expertool last night. just to get stalker playing a tad smoother.
what happened to the overclocking part of riva tuner?

I'm just using the overclocker section in the Nvidia control panel to overclock it. I downloaded the EVGA precision tune program and it looks nice but when I apply the settings at bootup it always pops up for me to accept if I want to run it. I hate that so the Nvidia control panel won out.

Well I can't leave well enough alone and wanted the GTX 275 FTW speeds on my card so I put a 80mm fan blowing cooler air from outside the case onto the card near it's fan and kicked it up to 713/1566/2520 (shader clock is actually higher than FTW speeds at 1512). Also have the card's fan at 100%. Ran Furmark for 10 min on stability test, Xtreme burning mode at 1024x768 in a window and the high it hit was 86C, it is idling now at around 42C.
