I recieved my GTX295 from the Egg yesterday here is a quick 3d Vantage score fresh Windows vista 64 bit results.
Whats unusual is Vista see's my overclocked processor at 3.85 when in reality it is 3.4 anyways from the smal amount of time spent on it I really am enjoying it.
Feels faster than the 4870X2 I had prior, and I do not get the graphics anomolies I got in ETQW.
I have a 8600GTS lying around would you guys here use it for Physx or just use the GTX295 alone. The reason I ask is it seems to score better without it than wit it, and I really dont have a game that takes advantage of Physx other then tech demos.

Vantage 21696
Temps are 54 GPU 1 and GPU 2 56 IDLE 40% fan I use the EVGA Precision nice little progy.
Load temps are 72 gpu 1 and gpu2 74. If I go 50% then its around 68 load.
This is on a CoolerMaster Cosmos.
Overclocks well too. I have set it to 660 core linked with shaders/1110 memory, and gamed for about 2 hours without a single issue late last night. This cards got some serious balls.

I am wondering if this would be a decent upgrade from my 8800GTX... :) You know.. one that is actually WORTH the money. Anyone think its worth it for my current PC? Or should I wait till I do my full upgrade later this year and wait for a new GPU Arch.?

You would definitely see a huge performance increase.
Since when have the 285 and the 295 been out???
I haven't heard anything about this. I better crawl out of my rock.

I won't tell you how to spent your dough.
I had an 8800gtx prior now residing in my son box, and this would be huge upgrade.
The power is there and your 3.15 quad has enough power. Just my 2 cents.

Hmmm.... wonder if my 650Watt PS could handle it though...

Hope the price comes down a lot since the 280 is selling for under $300 now.

Humm, less power, less heat, possible higher clocks and maybe step up to factory water cooled cards. Now I have to decide.

The way prices are it may be better to just grab a regular GTX 280 and OC it. The only way I'd go for the 285 would be if they have beastly overclocking. Right now most GTX 280s have zero problems with doing 648 on the core. Some break 700.
