I remember seeing a co-workers bill that was over $100,000 from right around the same time, 1999... 2000 something like that. A line cook that lived with 5 other people... they had discovered downloading movies via IRC and between the 5 of them had downloaded some insane number of movies in a month as well as games and music... it wasn't long after that the cable company put much tighter restrictions on download speeds.
