I have several Sun Ultra 20 and 40 systems that have Nvidia Quadro cards in them. I build the systems using jumpstart and after the jumpstart I automatically install the nvidia drivers. When the systems were directly connected to a monitor and keyboard we built them without any issues. We were able to get the require resoltuion of 1280x1024 easily and could adjust it with nvidia-settings. After these systems were built we connected them to an Avocent DSR8030 IPKVM and they continued to work great at the high resolution.
Recently we performed a new Jumpstart while the systems were connected to the IPKVM but at the end of the jumpstart we were only able use a resolution of 640x480. When I ran nvidia-settings there were no options for other resolutions. I next turned to the nvidia readme and adjusted some settings with no luck.
A few of the things that I changed:
In the "Screen" section
Option "UseEDID" "False"
Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "DFP, TV"
Remove all "display" subsections except for
SubSection "Display
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024"
EndSubSection
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
