Not bad. What are your full temps? And what is your max stable OC in a closed case?

Holy cow what are your temperatures???
1.6v your cpu ain't going to last!!
I found minimal difference between HT and not-HT temperatures.

Running 8 thread of Core Damage (stresses the cpu more than Prime95, etc), mine can hit 100C at 20x195 @ 1.35 volts with TRUE (one ~1500 rpm push fan).

I'm using 20x167 (3.34ghz) @ 1.1125v and that hits 69C full load + 3D closed case. Gaming and general usage does not run that hot. Core Damage is damn stressful program.

Here's my full i7 920 overclocking results:

That's an amazing overclock.

I really want to get one of these things eventually.

You do realise that is an out-of-case test rig he has, right? In a closed box you probably wouldn't see that high of an OC. Most folks I've seen with these are hitting a limit at about 4Ghz before temps start getting too high.

Regardless, if Intel offers the i7 for Retail Edge, I'm grabbing it for sure. :D

Over 2Ghz overclock on air is insane man. I don't care if its done in a walk-in freezer, cooling something with a hunk of metal and a fan and getting that much of an improvement is outrageous.

What makes it even more amazing is that its a hyperthreaded quad core with 8Mb cache and a good 10-20% speed advantage clock-for-clock over what I'm using right now.

If the boards were about $100 cheaper and the ram was priced similarly to DDR2 I'd have one of these already.

You work at WalMart, right? Look into Intel Retail Edge. The bundle deal for this last year is just a Core2 Quad... but for this year I have a hunch it'll be an i7 bundle. Watch for it... I am. :D

Hey that's a great idea Redeemed. :)

Their site doesn't seem to be working though. I can't register. :(

Thanks guys didn't even dare to look at temps for those clocks besides seeing in bios report 43-49C cpu temps and my powermate wattage meter reading ~285-295 watts idle and ~461 watts peak for total system power draw :)

my HT enabled 24/7 is 3815mhz at 1.232v or 4005mhz at 1.328-1.360v with TRUE120 AIR and ~73-88C prime95 load temps

I haven't used a pc case in nearly 5+ yrs as Aussie climate can get pretty hot heh (besides my Lian Li PC-V350B HTPC build (http://i4memory.com/f15/htpc-build-e6750-ga-g33m-d2sr-matx-hd3650-vx450-lian-li-pc-v350b-8510/))

... and my powermate wattage meter reading ~285-295 watts idle and ~461 watts peak for total system power draw :) ...

Mine is 137 wall watts idle, and 327 wall watts under absolute full load (cpu+gfx). How the hell are you at almost 300 watts at idle?! Holy cow, that's almost triple. Also, how is my 190w power swing larger than your ~170w power swing from idle to peak?? I only got gtx260 55nm and i7 at 3.33@1.1 volts!

eva2000
01-18-09, 07:17 AM
4652mhz at 1.616v = 295w idle and load was for super pi 32m so not much peaking to 461 watts peak with just puny fx5200 pci gpu heh - so 40% cpu clock and 46% more vcore would do it :D

01-18-09, 03:05 PM
hahahaha okay I only got +40 watts when running superpi 32M hehheh. you got +170W burn baby burn lol. and that's a single thread... o_O

Wow. Didn't realise ya'll lived in Craingerland.

If you did that where I'm at you'd probably hit 60*C at full load. Might even allow you to push her higher than what ya'll is at. :D

That overclock is sick lol

Currently im at 3.6Ghz with a 1.25 vcore 200/2*8 with a 18x multiplier turbo off.

Temps idle around 40-45 and load in prime 95 at 85-90 gonna test a little bit more before i post pics and screenies.
