On every game my pc crashes to a corrupt pink screen. When it crashes my screen goes crazy and the sound starts to loop and pc locks up:( I have to hold the power button to turn it off..should I contact XFX to RMA it?I'm going to try my old 8800gts to see what happens

Revert your system back to its stock clock speeds (CPU and video card) and see if it does the same thing.

It sounds like it's overheating, maybe you should run some temperature monitoring software in the background to see what's happening.
I remember playing Titan Quest on my 6800 GT which ended up with a corruption and complete system hang, it turned out that the heatsink on the card was clogged with dust and it was running at 110C. :o

I have rivatuner to check temps but they won't go higher than 63c:o

Its possible its your RAM as well. I used to get some looping sound/freeze and BSODs until I changed out the ram.

I wouldn't say it's dying. I would go with the possibility of overheating. Check the temps.

Honestly this is why my nvidia based video cards are only BFG and evga. If something bad happens you never have to worry about it.

Maybe try calling XFX?

Almost identical symptoms as my 8800gts from last week...took me all of 30 minutes to decide to try EVGA's wonderful rma service and received a brand new OEM 8800gtx in return 8 days later for my 20 month old card.

I just read your reply that they denied your claim. Buy EVGA next time, their service is excellent. Did you not register your card in the allotted time frame? For XFX it must be within 30 days of purchase to get lifetime replacement according to their website. Start checking into all those details before you try another support ticket.

If you never registered, then you fugged up.

Wow, that's a cool upgrade for free!

I have had some green screen/sound loop lockups with my GTX 260 under the 181.22 driver. I downgraded back to the 178.xx series and all is well again.

Maybe try going back to 178.xx and see if the issue persists?

been playing all day with my gtx 260 with no crashes with the 178.24.but why does my gtx260 have issues with the 181.20 or the 180.48 drivers now if I didn't have any problems before?
