I don't really think so, unless it's a step up program.:)

Not worth it. Wait for GT300 at minimum.

Well that won't be for a while. The GT212 will come out anywhere from late April to July.

Unless you have an EVGA card and can upgrade very cheaply, don't bother.

Maybe I'm crazy but I am, currently have an eVGA GTX 260 (original version) and ordered an XFX GTX 285 for $350 shipped from Newegg, will be here tomorrow w00t! Really the only reason I ended up doing it was I was one of the peeps that ordered that GTX 280 for $200 from Buy.com and none of us ending up getting it, and I was so excited when I had found that and then when I realized they weren't going to follow through with the deal I didn't want my excitement to end so figured I'd go for the 285 lol. However I should get $200 out of my old card so it'll just be a $150 upgrade after 6 months of ownership, not bad imo.

Get the 285 if you have a game that is running poorly on your 260. Otherwise wait for 212, and if the benches show it running that game (and future games you want) at an acceptable fps for you, then buy the 212.

If you can hold out even longer for more features, wait for the GT300 and buy it if you need it. So basically it is worth upgrading if you need the additional performance.

Thanks for the response guys.Darkone when you get the 285 post here for the results going from your 260.I am eycandy crazy. The games I run at 1920x1200 with everything maxed, and I mean everything are fine except far cry 2.I run that with 8x 16x and everything maxed except hdr and bloom and it kind of bothers me i cant max everything out.I cant go sli because I have a crossfire board asus p5k-e.Will I see those problems go away with a 285 maxed overclocked?

I can probably get 150 for my card also.

At those settings, a 295 might be a better bet.

[H]ardOCP (http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTYxMiw2LCxoZW50aGlzdWFzdA==) says it can run Far Cry 2 at 2560x1600 at max settings with the SSC EVGA 285 but only 4X AA.

My opinion: After seeing why you want a new card, I'd suggest you wait at minimum for GT212. Considering the economy is in the ****ter, prices will most likely drop over time, so pick up a 285 once it is cheaper, or save for a 212. Your card is a damn good card.

I might end up doing that.I will see how left 4 dead plays at 1920x1200 everything maxed.I am finished with far cry 2 anyways. It will also depend how much I can get the 285 for and how much I can sell my 260.

My GTX 260 maxes Farcry 2 on every setting at the same resolution, only I have AA at 4x. I honestly rarely find a game where more than 4xAA is needed at that high a res.

Anyway, on topic, I don't think the upgrade is worth it either. I would wait to see what nVidia rolls out at the end of the year, which is what I plan to do. If you wait for the big steps you always get more mileage out of the card.

Most people cant I guess.I am a jaggie nut,I CANT STAND THEM.I even see them from a distance on 8-16x on some games! You play hdr and bloom at 4xaa?Whats the rest of your specs?

They're cleverly hidden in my sig...

I don't like jaggies either, I just don't notice them at 4xAA most of the time. There are exceptions... I am using 16xAA in Mirror's Edge because of the way that game is designed.

Sorry about that should have read your sig when I was awake, lol.I am aa anal, cant stand them.I would put out for the 295 but dont want to have to replace my 500 watt 2x 17amp 12v rails for another one.My specs are as follows:

e8500 at 4.10 457x9
4gb pc8500 at 1091
gtx 260 at 700\1200\1400
25.5 samsung t260hd
2x 32gb ssd raid 0
x-fi titanium
and bunch of other meaningless crap.

I just want to be able to play newer and current games with no jaggs and full setting which seem to be for me 16x 8x some with supersampling.Mabe the 285 wont even make a difference.

Honestly with the way things are going now, a high end quad would probably be a better investment. Games are getting more and more processor heavy.

Personally I am not even considering upgrading until I see what comes out later in the year. I'm patient like that though... and I don't have your AA needs ;)

Did some 3DMark 06 and Vantage tests on my 285 and actually they didn't go up very much and I'm pretty sure it's my CPU holding me back. I wonder if I'd gain much by replacing this e6600 with a quad core q6600 ya think? However I did play Mirrors Edge and noticed it was actually perfectly smooth now, and Crysis I played at Very High settings @ 1600x1200 and even turned on 8X AA and 16X AF and it ran smooth and fast and I couldn't do that on the GTX 260 so it definitely helped.
