Over the last month or two, at surtain time of day, the forum has been very slow for me. So far today, for example, every page is taking about 20 seconds to load. Sometimes I'm even getting a 'time out' :(.

Is it just me, others in the UK or is everyone finding it very slow at times?

BTW, when the forum is running slow for me every other page I'm viewing is loading fine; nice and fast.

No problems of note here. Maybe somebody dragged an anchor across another undersea cable.:)

I am getting that to almost every time I visit, usually on late at night or early in the morning though.

No problems on this side of the pond.

Hmm strange. Must be a blockage in the tubes. Cheers for the feedback guys :).

Yeah, I've noticed it lately as well. Was doing it before I changed motherboards even. It's gotta be the site, 'cause others sites don't do it.

MikeC, what have you done to the servers? :D

This site is way better than xtremesystems and [H] lately...

I have noticed a significant pause lately when I try to load pages here on the forum as well.

I have noticed a significant pause lately when I try to load pages here on the forum as well.

I have sluggish performance, too, but its on or off. Sometimes during the day the site is blazing, right now it takes 2-5 seconds to load a page.

I've been having slow loading problems.

It might be an idea to post what browsers you're using. I'm on FF3 with NoScript and AdBlock+.

FF3 with just NoScript, but nvnews.net is whitelisted.

FF3 here, too. Nothing's changed on that front for quite some time, and other sites are working normally.

Of course, at the moment the forum is as fast as ever...

Slow again this morning :(

Page loading times are between 5-30 seconds (probably averaging 15 seconds ATM) with both IE and FF3. Searches and posting replys seems to take alot longer than just opening a page. I assume that suggests the server is busy. Maybe it's time to defrag NVN :p

EDIT: 15 mins later and all pages are loading within a second or two :o

I noticed it took me a minute to post a reply this morning but its not doing it consistently; I'll make sure Mike sees this, perhaps a restart is in order.

Maybe everybody should ping the server when it's slow to make sure it's not a network issue.

(I'm still not having any trouble with it, but maybe I'm just not on at the right times)

At first I thought it was my home internet connection (And it mostly still is, it is slow). BUT, it is happening at work also, and I am on a 50MB connection. :/

nemecb

Yeah, I'm just wondering if something on the server's connection is causing it. Maybe a bad router that only some people are hitting.

Alright it's slower than Gib massaging Richard Simmons right now so I decided to ping the server like nemecb said
