What about the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme? That is generally seen as the best cooler available.
Especially if you get the copper version, though that costs over a hundred dollars. :p

Agreed, got one myself and can't fault it

The TRUE is the best, especially if you lap it.
I just got a s1283 to replace a tuniq; the s1283 is definitely better. And it's cheap. You probably want to get a backplate for it though.
I have a Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme, ive had it from the release date, put a decent 120mm fan on these things and they are awsome.

Thermalright Ultra 120 FTW (It gives me a nice 1GHz OC )

True 120 black lapped here all good.
I got a TT. I don't think I would buy it again. It doesn't seem to cool to its potential.

I got rid of mine as well. It was just too big and clunky.

The xig (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233023) gets almost the same temps, 2-3 degrees difference, at about half the price. No matter what you choose the tower design of the true or zig is the way to go.

i would say vendetta 2... great cooler at a great price.. the only problem is clamping mechanism is terrible... however once you get it to stay on the cooler is awesome... heres a similar thread i found http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling/333236-true-tuniq-tower-ocz-vendetta-2-a.html
I gotta vote for the Xig.
While a TRUE may cool a few degrees better, the Xig costs a whole lot less. Great price for excellent performance.

I think that the 9700 is one of the best.....I'd use the TRUE if you desperately needed better cooling.
I can only comment on the one I have used and currently using, which is the Tuniq Tower 120.
