Yeah, I mean Samsung is gunning for 240Hz already.
http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/14/samsung-first-on-the-block-with-240hz-lcd-prototype-100-better/

I had a couple of shutters once, came with my Geforce 256 back in the day.
It was sorta neat, but I didnt use it much.
werent that comfortable, eyes got tired after a while and novelty, as always, wore off.
120hz wasnt an issue on my CRT back then.

It's already hard enough to get 60 fps with vsync in most games, now imagine to get 120 or even 240!!!

Dunno if that matters though, for stereoscopic I mean.
As long as it can switch camera at 120hz to sync with each eye shutting and opening at 60hz.
It prolly doesnt matter if a new frame has been rendered at every switch, or if its an old one, as long as it switches.

AFAIK it works by switching between 2 parallell cameras and alterating left and right eye to sync so the left eye opens for the left camera and right eye opens for the right camera.
Sounds to me like it doesnt require the framerate to be in sync with that.

yeah, its just the way the dongles work, they run direct from the monitor out and sync to that (simple tech?)

the new 3d films show 3 of the same frames but alternated, no reason why nvidia cant do the same.

im glad they're re-branding 3d.

xbox3-d anyone?
