EVGA is following Nvidia's reference design. Reference designs are not allowed alot of changes in early releases. Especially on high end hardware where Nvidia has stricter guidelines for hardware design.

Hence why this is an optional thing EVGA included. I personally think it's cool that EVGA even provides something like this.

LOL $20 more after spending $500 is just disrespect to your customers. Like when Nvidia sold the 280s for $699 and 2 weeks later they were like $450. Disrespect.

Another one who took the $5 business class instead of the $10 one. Companies exist to make money. They produce things for people to purchase in order to make a profit. Your feelings mean nothing.

Looks like this has "useless" written all over it. Are there tests available to see the temp difference?

From some tests they do seem useful in cooling (about 10ºC decrease in temperature).

im soo gonna ask EVGA to provide one on my step up to the 295

How are you going to do that considering they only ship to USA & Canada? I'd like to know since I live in Europe.

sent my 280 to EVGA in germany, and added a note asking for a backplate if any are in stock with my 295

fingers crossed
