I currently have an AthlonXP2100+ Nforce paired with my old Quadro2 Pro 64MB card. Was wondering if the performance of the newer cheaper models would be better than what I have. I know the newer cards are at faster clocks and memory and support dx9 so it should be; but since my card is so old i don't really see any benchmarks to see how much faster if at all.
Thx!

No the 5200 sucks,badly!!!

Get a Geforce 4, non MX, or an ATI card!!! Maybe even wait for the 5600, revision 2 (not out yet), but all of NV's current new stuff stinks!

the 5200 is quite bad however the ultra is really nice (for 125$)

I have a FX 5200 Ultra "eVGA" - got it for $129.00 - I was really surprised by the performance. I was getting 9935 on 3DmarkSE on defAult seeting of 1024 X 768 X 32. On real gameplay it wasn't that bad like everybody claims it to be. So the performace is a little bit slower than a GF4ti4200 which I was getting 10950 3Dmark on my other computer - Based on the SAME 2.4 P4 @ 533 FSB memru running at 333. "Now" it is your choice and it is you money. I am happy with mine but not everyone would agree with me and some will. I will say to stay away from the non ultra version and if you want to go spend a little more then a 5600 ULTRA or a 9500 Pro ATI or a 9600. I had a 9000 pro at one time and I didn't like the ATI drivers.

I didn't get mine :( . EVGA is not that bad......... except they left no heat sink on the memory on the 5200 ULTRA. Just a basic card. MSI comes with a lot more bells and whistles ( more games and even a remote control) .

As soon as ATI makes a stable driver, I am thinking of getting the 9600 series. I am keeping an eye on RAGE3D forums.

Piece-o-advice then, you might want to consider the 9700 non-Pro. It'll toast the 9600, and with a little luck will OC up to a full Pro.
