also i forgot to mention program is totally free and works great! as long as the movie you want to copy is smaller than 4.36gb.

This program is pretty much the defacto standard.

If you rip a movie that is larger than 4.36GB you will need to use something like DVD2One in order to compress it down.

Wrong. It is illegal. It's a way to circumvent copyright controls, and that's illegal under the DMCA.

2600 was nailed for LINKING to DeCSS source. So yes, DVD Decrypter is completely illegal. ;)

And I don't really drink and I've never smoked pot.. but hey, I download MP3s and copy DVDs all the time. Just because it's illegal because of giant evil corporations doesn't mean I won't do it.

I have a legit reason for my ripping of DVDs, if I go down then by God nVidia is going down with me! How can I make such outrageous claims? Because their brilliant driver team decided to screw a good portion of its userbase. There was a bug in DX 8.1 (a generation and then some ago) that allowed certain cards with non-macrovision-certified tv-out chips to circumvent macrovision protection; this bug was fixed in DX 9. Nvidia, rather than simply disabling DVD playback when TV-Out was enabled, simply, at the driver level, disabled 100% of all DVD playback...period. Yep, whenever I put in a DVD I get an error about macrovision protection even though I've never even attempted to use TV-Out. So thank God for DVD Decrypter and its ability to remove macrovision protection; it's the only way I can watch a DVD.

So like I said, if I go down I'm taking nVidia with me :D
