System lockup when sharing USB 2 IRQ with nvidia

I recently started having issues of a full system lockup and a blank screen almost every time I plugged in a USB storage device. The USB slots are on a USB2 add-on card. I noticed that is shared interrupts with the nvidia card. I changed the PCI slot to get a different IRQ, and the problem is solved.

I only happened if the X display was running, but I only tested with the nvidia driver, so I don't know if it is specific to the nvidia driver, or due to the USB driver or some other IRQ handling problem.
