I'm having a strainge problem.
Every time I try and download or install mp3 rocket my norton 2009
is deleting files from mp3 rocket saying they are a downloader virus.
I've downloaded it from 4 places now and it always does the same thing.
It even blocks the download most of the time.
Anyone else ever run into this.?
well...probably because it contains a virus? check the log, see what its saying about the file, then google that info up.

AV software often also does something called false positive. AV detection is based on signatures, it is not always 100% accurate.

Nope no virus... What I cannot figure out is I've had MP3 rocket and norton on my system
for almost 3 weeks I've owned this new laptop. Then for some unknown reason friday
it trashes the file to startup mp3R. I try and download it again and it blocks my download.
I turn it off download and reinstall it and I'll be damn it trashes the new file.
I've downloaded it from 4 different sorces and it does it to all of them.
I know good and well it's no virus. download.com is one place.Brothersoft is one other.
They scan all there software for viruses, spamware and everything.

Just put the file/install in an exclusion directory

Did you try to reg clean after uninstall?
You could try an online ondemand scanner (as a second opinion) and if they say it's fine use exclude as Absolution said above.
Maybe even report it to Norton support so they can correct it.

I have Norton Internet Security 2009.
I downloaded it no problem, and I even scanned it with it and it said it was clean.
Sorry, I don't want to install stuff like this on my computer.
But If I did, I don't think norton would stop me
