if you have a dual ch memory supportting motherboard do you have to buy dual ch memory, or can buy single ch in pairs?

you can buy single channel... just make sure to get 2 or 4 if you want to run them in dual channel mode

1 = Single channel
2 = Dual channel
3 = Single channel
4 = Dual channel

If you are using a board for a Pentium 4 then ALL memory MUST be the same size.
