Sweet! And I bet ur right $n][pErMan. Because even though I suddenly had to go work the past five straight hours i got a short test run of Stalker:Clear Sky before I left.

I launched it fine. Checked Options and found that all was at High (my 8800 and even 280 struggled with it). A few things in advanced settings were at medium. So I left everything as is except I changed from zero AA to 2X. The new game loaded fine! After the initial cut scene I was able to save and load just fine. I even did a few quick quick save/ quick loads. And even Jumped back to several Saves from back in October. THE GAME IS FINE!!!! And like $n][pErMan said I bet it's no prob on max settings. :D

Another unplayable game in now playable thanks to the 295! :super::thumbsup::cool2::headbang::cool3::thinker:
:clap2:(nana2)(nana2):clap2:

I gots to check out playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. :D

Not another one. :D (No offense WeReWoLf. im just playin'.)

OK, if anybody wants a 285 here's a whole bakers dozen to pick from:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000380048+106792634+1067946202&Configurator=&Subcategory=48&description=&Ntk=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=

"Let me see, I'll take that one. No, that one. Wait, turn that one over. Yes, give me that one plz." :D (Plus note the free games they have added.)

But if you want a 295, and because you waited three weeks to decide... just look:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000380048+106792634+1067946192&Configurator=&Subcategory=48&description=&Ntk=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=

Your out of luck mates. And w-h-y are u out of luck?

Because getting a 295 is the right decision to make. You can't find one because it is just as bad ass a Video Card as having a 8800GTX in November of 2006 was! (lee)w00t! *memories :D

Just because GTAIV this or GTAIV that. :D

My 295 failed at first on FO3 for reasons I caused. :( Then it passed with flying colors on another game. :) Then another game... then another game... then another game... It was like a pattern. :D And I said, "well I wonder if the problems when trying FO3 was the game's setting and not the card". And it was. :D

Remember, the same settings on a 285 are not gurenteed to work on a 295. For example, (for Crysis) Vertical sinc on a 285? Yes. Vertical sinc on a 295? No.

None taken, it's just I'm a supporter of single card solutions, and to have less than 1Gb of useable memory on the best card in their lineup makes my mind boggle. Should bring out a 295 with 3Gb total.

Single card solutions have always worked best for me :) Never driver issues or stuttering. The GTX285 is by far the most powerfull single card solution on the market. I am not quite sure why they made the GTX295 with less memory and with slower clocks... it would seem that two GTX285's built in the same way would have been much better! Having 1GB of video memory really helps on higher resolutions as well! That could be the reason though that at most the GTX295 is only about $80 more in price than the GTX285.

LOL! I wish it was like that in Australia. GTX 285 is between $580 and $650 here. GTX 295 is $800+

Its the same sort of differences where I live :( :headexplode:

Im hopin to have latched onto a great deal which will see me getting a REALLY cheap GTX 295.

Question is though, can I still registar the card with BFG if its over 30 days old? (its 37 days old :|)

Okay sorry for dragging this out, but I would like to make decision before monday. :o

My choices are:

BFG GeForce GTX 285 OC BFGRGTX2851024OCE / 1GB DDR3 / PCI Express 2.0 / Graphics Card (costs £285)

Zotac GeForce GTX 295 ZT-295E3MA-FSP / 1792MB DDR3 / PCI Express 2.0 / Graphics Card costs (£370)

BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC Maxcore / 896MB / PCI Express 2.0 / Graphics Card (costs £219)

BFG nVidia GeForce GTX 295 / 1792MB DDR3 / PCI Express 2.0 / Graphics Card (costs £398).

The difference between Zotac and BFG (from what I know) is that Zotac has a 5yr warranty and farcry 2 as well as 3dmark vantage), but on the otherhand BFG has 10yr warranty and I know more about them.

The difference between the GTX 260 and the GTX 295 = £149

The difference between the GTX 260 and the GTX 285 =£66

The difference beween the GTX 285 and the GTX 295 =£85

Cheers

GTX 285 is well worth the 66E over the GTX 260. On a decently overclocked GTX 285, you get approximately 15-20% more FPS than the GTX 280, which is already a few percentage points faster than the GTX 260/216.

FC2 @ 2560X1600, 4XAA, 16AF...

I'm another single-card fan, but that's because 1) My poor PSU couldn't support a GTX 295 2) I don't like that my game performance depends on the quality of nVidia's SLI department. :D I'm not saying they do a bad job, but that is a bit too much trust to put in their hands.
