View Full Version : Is OCZ ram good Ram?
Thanks for the replies to my last question. Anyway, So I have been advised that I should get 400 mhz ram for my new 333mhz nforce2 processor, which I'm going to overclock some...!! Will 400mhz RAM run as well as 333mhz RAM, all things being equal, if the 400 mhz ram is underclocked to 333mhz? And I was also advised by some of you guys to get Corsair ram. The thing is I am saving all my money for the 5900 Ultra when it comes out...
Is OCZ ram, which is much cheaper, a good alternative to Corsair, or what would you all do if you were trying to save a little money on RAM?

Go with the OCZ. A lot of people may be against OCZ due to their dishonest business practices a while ago when they were owned by different people. Now they are a whole now company and sell real high-quality RAM. 400MHz DDR running at 333MHz will perform identical to 333MHz DDR running at 333MHz. Personally I use OCZ PC3700 and have had great results with it--running at 500MHz DDR no sweat.

They got their act together. I'd buy it if I was looking for new RAM.

I've had 512MB of OCZ PC2700 CL2 running at CL2 for like 6 months with no problems at all, it seems to run pretty cool too. Haven't tried overclocking, but it seems to run cool enough for it if you wanted too.

Yea they're making good stuff now. I've had a stick of PC3200 running stable @ 400fsb 1.6v (2,2,2,5) for almost 2 months now.
