Boxee says they'll be removing Hulu this Friday. Hulu CEO Jason Kilar is smarter than his corporate content masters (News Corp and NBC Universal) and realizes how bad their decision to turn off access via Boxee is: "We realize that there is no immediate win here for users." It's not a win for Hulu, either, since it means Boxee users are more likely to turn to torrents and other ways to watch shows now out of convenience, and with their ad model, lost views is lost money.

Can't agree more. I believe that the Boxee project will lose a lot of users (getting Hulu to work in any other HTPC program is sometime difficult) so this is definitely a lose-lose situation. Torrents anyone? :D

LifeHacker is pretty pissed at Hulu for this. They are basically recommending that you start using BitTorrent to get your TV show fix. And you know what? I agree 110%.

How is nobody replying on this one? This is big news for anyone who uses Hulu outside of the desktop/laptop realm.
