Good F1 needs new teams, and the new rules may make it interesting.

So, no say on the type of car, no say on the driver, no say from f1 itself no prior f1 experience.
Looks promising.

Type of car. US born and machined.
Type of driver, obviously road course specialist. Although I think there is a sideshow claiming they are interested in...wait for it...Danica Patrick.
Honda will provide the engines.
No prior experience? I guess you aren't educated in F1? Ken Anderson has worked with many F1 teams, and helped create Ligier back in the mid 80's. And Peter Windsor has covered F1 for over 10+ years as a pit reporter.
won't it be great to see the US based F1 team race at their home track at Indy in the USGP .... oh, i forgot, Bernie dropped that race, as well as the Canadian GP. not enough money to made in North America, i guess. so what's the point. F1 abandoned North America, is in the process of leaving Europe .... for what? India? Russia? the Middle East? name your Third World Nation _____ here? i'm so disillusioned with F1, that i'm considering following Indy Car or even NASCAR; F1 be damned.

****, just checked the 2009 calendar. Can't believe it, that bastard really dropped Montreal. Bah.
I still remember watching the Phoenix GP, and thinking how cool it was. Then they dropped it. And then they dropped Adelaide.
Then Indy.
And now Montreal. Blah.

I think both Indy and Montreal are just on a hiatus. They're both expected to be back soon enough.
Fact is, even though Indy has such an important history in motorsport the course is rubbish, I'd love for it to be moved elsewhere in the US.
I quite like Montreal because its different to all other F1 tracks and it should be brought back. As I said, I'm sure this is just a temporary thing.

Not impressed so far...

I have no comeback to this...

Huh? they are just bailing out of F1 themselves
From ITV-F1...... Peter Windsor: "Most of the technology in Formula 1 comes from the United States to begin with,"
What?! That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard - I predict EPIC FAIL for this project.

I quite like Montreal because its different to all other F1 tracks and it should be brought back. As I said, I'm sure this is just a temporary thing.the US and Montreal GPs are off the calendar for one reason: money. Ecclestone is demanding exorbitant fees to stage the race, so much so that Tony George (Indy) claimed the race wouldn't be financially viable; in Canada, Ecclestone was asking for something like $175 million guaranteed from the government over five years to stage the race. as much as i like F1, i'm glad the gov't didn't cave in to his demands. this will be the first time since 1958 that an F1 race hasn't been staged in North America.

Here's where I got that info from, but I never bothered to look at the date, it was dated June 16, 2008 :p

Montreal yes. Indy no. There are plans for a US gp elsewhere but its uncertain at this point.

SO what was this **** about a US team and which team is it, because i am confused now.
SO what was this **** about a US team and which team is it, because i am confused now.the US based F1 team may be on the starting grid for the 2010 Championship season:
The founders of a proposed Formula One team from the United States insist they are ready to enter the sport in 2010.
Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson, the duo behind the scheme, have said the cars will be built in North Carolina and driven by American drivers.
They also confirmed they have finance in place and that F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has given them his backing.

America will never join F1 Grand Prix.
The USA is an island in terms of sport.

I cant believe Hamilton finished 3rd starting from 18th. Alright he was quite lucky with three or four people spinning out or crashing and getting out of his way, plus the safety cars probably did him a favour.
Not to mention that if the arodynamic diffuser row goes in favour of having no diffuser then he potentially has first place!
