Thats right, after countless boring threads, which lead im sure to much exasperation, I have finally just stfu'ed and brought a card.
I literally was changing my order every 2 mins, but finally insanity ruled over. :headexplode:
I have purchased.

I always try to go best bang for the buck. If another card is 5% faster but cost 25% more then I go for the cheaper card as you can always over clock :)

Bollox, im like a woman with clothes.
Ive been reading some really crap reviews about Zotac and how their cards appear to be ****ed.
Add into the equation that I can now get a sealed BFG card (GTX 285 OCX) for only £290 vs the Zotacs £370 and suddenly my mind has changed.
Looks like ill be getting a GTX 285 then :D

Are you eligible to Trade up in 100 days DreamWeavernoob?
If the answer is no. You'll be sorry!
Why?
Because if I set "Multi-GPU performance mode" to "Single GPU" on my GTX295, I bet even an OCed GTX285 is hardly distinguishably from my performance except @ 2560x1600 because of the vRAM. (You don't have a 30' monitor do you?) But when I change back "Multi-GPU performance mode" to "normal" or "NVIDIA recamended" my GTX295 is as indistinguishable as Night and Day from a GTX285 OCed! (Or Smoking is to a dowsed flame. ;))
See, that's what the extra £80 would get you. :D
Another way to look at it is, just get another GTX285 OCed and you'll be hardly distinguishably from my performance except @ 2560x1600 because of the vRAM. But at least you will have the performance too. (Compared to one GTX285 which sucks in comparison to a GTX295.)
And 2xGTX285 has a few more perks. One card goes down and ur cool for example. :) But I hear that 2xGTX295 is the best bang for ur money!

Hmmm Quad SLI, value? Same sentence? :p
I might see what you mean though - for 30-inch monitors - possibly.

A Single GTX285 would beat a single GTX295 (if it was one card). A GTX295 as is will perform better in most cases than a GTX285 (drive issues will cause the GTX285 to win in Crysis at last check). 2 GTX285's will beat a single GTX295. 2 GTX295's will beat 2 GTX285's. 3 GTX285's will beat 2 GTX295's.

Apparently that is micro stutter problem is gone now...
And the 295 at a glance appear to offer more per money.

OMFG. I just brought me a mother ****ing BFG 1792mb GTX 295 for only 300 ****ing pounds.
I = happy.
A GTX 295 for less than a GTX 285.
For some reason they are sold out now........:headexplode:

Yay for the smiles!
Also, BD3D - you appear to have a pretty nice computer!
I would like to know actually, what's the max FSB on that mobo that you can get?
Also why a dual core, not implying that anything is wrong - just curious...

1333/1066/800 MHz FSB. Is that what u mean? I'm still learning. (newb)
I bought the E8400 the first day it was available on sale for $219. And in comparison to Quads (costing $1,200) running at stock speeds, the Wolfdale when OCed to between 3.9GHz and 4.0GHz resulted in equal or better performance in games. :bounce: (nana2):bounce:
Now days anyone would want a Q9550 obviously. :ORDER: They're Gerrrr..ate! deal for that little money now. :smoking::smoking2:(lee)
