I was trying to run my CRT off my laptop's crappy video port and I was amazed how terrible it looked. I would have thought any old 2D chip would compare to the next, but I guess not. One of the main things I noticed was horrible flicker at 60Hz. 60Hz on my GTX looks just like 75Hz, but on the laptop it's unbearable, and unusable with that much flicker. Not only that but the image just looked really bad, though hard to explain. For sure the colors were not the same, and the image seemed a lot softer and less vibrant. I guess it goes to show how much difference a qualiy video chipset can make.
