Just wondering when you think that games will start to reflect real life.

Games like Crysis (modded) show great bounds over games I love like thief 2 etc.

Is it years? Is it a limitation of hardware? Do we need new architecture?

Will graphics cease in importance? A clear movement in that direction is the wii. (though they went to far).

Graphics help, but in the end it comes down to the game play.

If a game is junk, people wont play it.

I say graphics wont be lifelike anytime soon, 5 years.

Never, because as PC hardware gets better real life hardware also gets better. PC trying to catch upto real life is like console trying to catch upto PC.

You will only see true life like games when they can finally interface directly to the human brain to stimulate images, sounds, stories... etc. I doubt we will see it in our lifetime.... but then again 10 years ago I would have laughed at the idea of 1gig of RAM.... lol. :)
