View Full Version : DLINK DGL-4500 streaming Vid Help

I have a DGL-4500 and use it for all my home networking needs including streaming media from a Vista Media Center PC to my TV via an XBOX 360. It seems that when playing back video the first 5 seconds of the clip comes across very pixelated (is that a word) you know ...digital squares. After 5 seconds it dissappears and the stream is fine. If I fast forward or rewind, the first 5 seconds of play back again is pixelized. It is the worst after I have just FF'd or RW'd but I have seen it on occasion while just viewing. This is over a hard wire lan connection and have noticed that if I use a wireless connection this doesn't happen. (I would have thought the opposite) I called DLINK support but they were of no help. Anyone have any suggestions of what could be the problem? I have tried adjusting the MTU setting but that did not help. I also viewed the source file on the PC and that is fine...no problems with the source file at all.

I have no idea what those acronyms are. All I know is I have a TV tuner in my PC and with Media Center I can stream live TV and/or record...like a PVR/DVR. Whatever format that is ..is what I have.

Runningman are you suggesting setting QOS priority for this port/link?
