Its actually a new mod with higher poly counts on the models.
This mod intend to give you better graphics for this fantastic game by replacing all the originals low polygones AI meshes by totally new hi-res ones... It will absolutly not affect the original game except for this little enhancement which will give a serious lifting to the old Dark engine...
Check it out..

Now if I can remember where I put my CD>?
Sweetness!!! Man, I'm happy with ANYTHING new that System Shock 2 related, even if it is just higher poly-count models. Interestingly, in an interview with the producer of the game, they said they found out that they could have upgraded the character polygon-counts without affecting performence much. Now if only that one mod that was going to add new levels to the game didn't die out...
Anyway, I'm downloading this right now. I'll post again and tell you how it goes once I get it installed.
Well, I tested it out. It looks amazing, but apperently something in my system is screwed up because System Shock 2 has horrible, horrible jittering that makes it unplayable, with or without the new models. Anyway, it's very well done, and the models are near Doom 3 quality (though without the lighting effect, obviasly). Very cool mod, I recommend everyone who has System Shock 2 to pick it up and give it a whirl.

Got it, and its awesome. Though I had the trouble with some of the meshes (the monkeys which aren't high poly models yet, where invisible). If this happens to you, here is the fix
Solution for the missing models:
If you're having problems with missing models, simply extract all the files from the original ss2 'mesh.crf' into your sshock2\mesh\ folder.
After that, just copy Rebirth on top of the mesh folder and everything should work just fine
