View Full Version : Do I really have a Sapphire Radeon?

Picked up a Sapphire Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB, but the PCB was red and not black (which I was expecting), nor did it have the "sapphire fan" on it.

It may or may not be a problem. I couldn't care less about the color, but it implies that perhaps it isn't a sapphire board after all, and I really do want what I am paying for.

Is something wrong?
Or should I find something else to worry about? :)

Incidently, if someone has one of these installed in a ThermalTake Xaser III case, how the **** did you manage to install it without modifying the case?

I have a Sapphire 9800 Pro. While mine is red (like all the reviews) mine didn't come with the Sapphire logo on the fan. I think those black cards with the Sapphire fans must be what the company sells to markets outside N. America. That's the only explanation I can come up with. Otherwise I have no idea why the review cards looks one way and what ends users get look like something else.

I was under the impression that Sapphire made 'Built by ATi' cards also, so i think eveorn almost has a sapphire. I could be wrong though!

They do. I ran Sandra and my card shows up as an ATI card not a Sapphire.

Great,

So im pritty sure you have a Sapphire card, because that would definatly make them the largeist producer of ATi cards. My 9800Pro is defiantly made by sapphire, but in a VisionTek Box!
