NB** I know that there is a Crysis sub forum but i wanted more eyes to view this thread rather that it fade into oblivion like most crysis related infomation. Mods, if you feel you have to move it to the correct section then no hard feelings**
Anyway, back to the business at hand.
Simple question, what is your play style in Crysis and/or Crysis Warhead. If you can pick a character that sums up your play style, what would it be.
For me, i see my style more as Predator in that i watch from afar and analyse the best play method then using the cloak function i like to stalk the KPA and pick them off one by one using single shot mode (putting the fear of god in them in the process......i love their frighten Koren screams) while herding the remainder into a nice circle until there are none left.
What is yours. Come and have a go if you think you iz 'ard enuff :afro:
To add, i forgot how much fun Crysis is and i am going throught it again. I have already completed it via Delta mode a while back and to be honest if you are about to play the game for the first time then i really recommend delta mode if you want a more strategic element to your shooting rather than running and gunning. There are so many ways and style to complete an objective in this game.

I played through the game the first time Rambo style... killed everything, run n' gun, on normal difficulty.
Then I played through a second time to the alien levels on Delta difficulty and I snuck around all the time, barely killed anyone...
It's really amazing how the game changes depending on how you want to play. It was almost a completely different game the two times I played it. both of them of the upmost quality. I really, truly, do NOT understand the haters one little bit.

What are examples of a good, recent FPS to you?

sadly most recent fps's are copy paste of each others gameplay and its been a big drought for good games, but these games have gameplay mechanics that push the industry
L4D versus mode rules, best coop ever
tf2 lvl of coop is good, but still the game is too much like counter strike
stalker (to bad cs was nearly identical to SOC) was great in alot of ways one of the first good RPG/fps/open word games
fallout 3 open world is the new 3d
game play matters more to me than graphics, crysis is a point click shoot copy paste with a gimmicky suit layer added on, IMO it gets way to much credit as a good game just cause it looks good. Btw I just installed crysis and with my rig 295gtx 4g ram and 3.44 Q6600 its NOT playable on max settings :thumbdwn:

God I hope not... not every game should be open, as Farcry 2 should show. There is a lot to be said for linear experiences, as the success and love for games like Call of Duty, Dead Space and Crysis shows.

From your list and this comment it seems like you just don't enjoy linear shooters, which is fine, but a lot of people do. Since Crysis was always billed as a hardcore but rather normal PC FPS, one wonders why you bought it in the first place. You're like that IGN reviewer who gave Football Manager '09 a low score simply because he disliked the genre and gameplay style.

Then you're doing it wrong, as my 260 maxes the game with 4xAA and 16xAF forced through the control panel (DX9).

every game should push the envelope of the genre or theres no point in the game (its technology), whether it be story, control, graphics, gameplay, interactions, ai ect ect, I'm saying crysis only pushed graphics while gameplay, ai, and other areas are just typical shooter quality. Yet people defend the game at all cost like you are. Its called fanboy.
dx10 is max, I liked deadspace, farcry 2 sucked balls
plz im nothing like that reviewer

based on what information? lol smells like a troll in here

It's called liking shooters, whether they innovate or not, as long as they are well made, and Crysis is extremely well made.

That's what I was talking about in other topic. You can't say that Crysis is great game because you're gonna be called fanboy.
Depends on the day (and hence my mood) and the enemy and the location.
I've found I can simply run past a number of enemies and they only chase me so far. Or I can just strength jump to locations out of reach and there you go.
On some coastline levels, there are small islands in the bay and I have swam out to those and gone from one to the other till I get to my target without engaging a single ground troop :D
